I had some whipping cream left over from the holidays, so I tossed it into a pot with some brown sugar and corn syrup and maple extract, and toasted some leftover walnuts. I may or may not have succeeded in making maple walnut ice cream.

In between setting the stove timer in 20-minute increments to take the bowl out of the freezer and give it another stirring, I did some work on the dragon sculpture that I'm refurbishing. There's a crown on a broken front tooth, the broken moustache on the right side is fixed, the back half of the sculpture has been painted with gesso, and I've almost got all the 5-minute epoxy off my fingertips.

Finished First Position . And the tiramisu cake. Listening to jazz on the radio now. "Dorian" by Roy Haines. Also perusing that weird Tourette's thread (and almost responded, but realised that my wit can be just as offensive, even when I am calling out others for being offensive).

Took my wood lathe off its junk wooden stand, moved my ornamental mill into the garage, and put the lathe on that stand. I'll be selling off the parts form the ornamental mill to pay for its purchase price. The parts I'm selling will offset the cost of a new stand. I paid $300 for the whole mill, and I can sell the parts, less the stand, for that. Free lathe stand! Score!
