The baseball game is in rain delay, so I cracked the seal on the Lagavulin 16. It's everything that I expected it to be. Smoky, meaty, and very smooth.

Well, good news and bad news. Good news, I got my first appointment to get the COVID jab. The bad news: I read it three hours after they sent it and when I clicked the link, I found this:



Yes, they had 24 slots and EVERY SINGLE ONE was fully booked. 

On the bright side, we’re close to finishing the archtop. We’ve screwed the tailpiece and endpin Jack on and we’ve finally managed to put the Regal decal on it. 



And on using the waterslide, I followed the directions and I was like “Holy shit, this stuck to the headstock almost immediately.”

Doing taco tuesday a day early.

Today was Putting Crap Up On Walls day. In an effort to reuse a towel bar and a mini-bookshelf that had been sitting in my parts collection, I put them up in the bathroom and my study respectively.

Bookshelf is a cool little thing - you put a moderately large hardcover book on it, hook the bottom cover on some hooks under the shelf bracket, and then stack a handful of other books on top of it. If you do it right, the stack of books appears to be floating next to the wall with no visible means of support. Currently I have a book of Gustave Doré illustrations and a collection of Christopher Hitchens essays up there.

Term deposit finally matured. Paid the builder for "lockup" stage a month late. They didn't even notice I hadn't paid.
1 month for tiling and 1 month for painting and I'll be close to moving in...

With the timber shortage here also, builders are waiting 8-15 weeks for house frame. The slab next door to us was poured 6 weeks ago and still nothing.
