What's everyone up to right now?

Relaxing for a while. My new racing wheel arrived this weekend, but I haven't tested it yet. That's on the menu for later as I want to confirm function before spending $50 on a racing game.

The cloudburst passed in about half an hour so I made myself some lunch while waiting it out. Then a nice hour of floating and enjoying some music. I have to go at this slowly so I don't end up looking like a boiled lobster. It's been two years since I was in the pool.

Laid on a float and watched a group of about a half dozen hawks circling around. One came down pretty low.

Watching baseball. My new racing wheel works well. One of the paddles makes a slight noise, but fuck it.

I figured I would keep moving (buzzards are what usually circle around here) and the dogs and parrots were under the roof of the deck so I figured they were safe.

A few years ago I came home to find a hawk sitting on our fence snacking on a mouse. He seemed unfazed by my stopping the car right next to him...apparently it was a pretty tasty mouse.

Just learned some tragic news about my ex. It's been 9 years and I loved her; she was my best friend. She left me and even though that hurt so much, I had always hoped that she was happy and healthy. I had hoped that we both would get what we wanted out of life when we walked away from each other.

I haven't heard anything in all these years and I never asked, never looked. My mother talked to my ex's dad today and it has upset me greatly to learn how difficult things have been for her and how unhappy and isolated she has become.

I'm sorry. Some of us have people who became a part of our past but never completely left our hearts. It can be difficult.
