So, I’m almost complete in my quest for keychain versions of each British predecimal coin (from farthing to half-crown). And I got some shillings and a farthing, and they came in this odd wrapping: they’re all in a coin envelope, stuffed in a little red drawstring bag, folded into a greeting card with birds on it and then into a proper envelope.
I gave one of them, a 1954 Scottish shilling, to my Dad, and the rest are on my key ring. Now, all I’ve got left before completing it is a half-crown that I hope to Hell is coming soon, because I ordered it about a month ago, and it hasn’t come yet.
Also, Gulliver’s, a pizza place my family has loved for my entire life, is going to close on Sunday. We’re hoping to order out from there for those last three nights (because they’re not delivering tonight).

Listening to music and waiting for the glass of scotch I just drank to leave my system before exercising.

Jokkas visa has just been cancelled.
And on the saga goes....
He'll try to get a bridging visa now just so he can play in the Aussie Open and win his 4.4m buckaroos...

Looking over my notes from all the fireworks shopping trips I took to Pennsylvania between 1983 and 2018.

Pyrotechnics were fun. We used to say that if you didn't have a fuse burn it wasn't a real 4th.

Trying to get over a cold. Day 1 was horrible because I was also severely sore from working construction. Every muscle and joint hurt plus the effects of the cold. Felt like I was going to die.
Day 2 I spent huddled under the covers all day on the couch, drinking orange juice, eating chicken noodle soup and taking regular cold meds.
Day 3 Feeling much better

It feels like a normal cold and I have been vaccinated with the booster. I suppose it could be covid, but right now I'm going to stay inside and hopefully not contaminate anyone else.
If things get worse I will seek medical attention, but right now everything feels fine, just a persistent cough.
Time will tell

Pretty sure I have Covid. One of my son's (unvaxxed) co-workers has been out for two weeks with a really bad case of it. Stupid shit. Personally, I had a runny nose Sunday and then a bit of chest and nose congestion and dry throat. My sense of taste is off, as of yesterday. Other than that, I feel OK. I can't find a test kit or testing place within 20 miles that isn't fully booked beyond when I expect I'll be over it. Given my symptoms, I'm just going to hunker down and not go all Typhoid Mary on the population.
