Just had another call with the SSA. Their system is still as labyrinthine and Brazil-like as it ever was. One thing worth noting is that apparently, I needed to be examined by an SSA doctor. My failure to have done so (because we were not informed we needed to) is A) a major reason I didn't get approved in the first place, and B) Something I didn't get far enough in my application to have learned about. It is apparently both of these mutually exclusive reasons, because the woman on the other end has claimed both in the same phone call.

Have they sent you to be examined by a doctor of occupational medicine? I only ask because I have a mate in NI who tried to get a disabled person’s pension for almost two years with no luck. He signed on with a disability consultant who sent him to an OEM and got approved a month later.

Actually have put on a couple pounds lately. Considering I had dropped to under 99 pounds that's not saying a whole lot but I'll take it and hope for more.
