Aw crap. I forgot to get tofu when I was at the store. Aldi's did have a couple of bottles of General Tso's sauce at $2.19 a bottle though for further tofu experiments.

I used to just buy huge blocks of plain tofu from the Asian market and eat them as is. Not bad, but not that great.

Need to get ready for annual physical. My doctor has days when she starts at 7 am. So, it's an early one and I am drinking lots of water in hopes that they can find a vein with one stick for a change. I usually come out looking like an active junkie by the time they get blood. The young lady that was so good moved on as did my very favorite nurse.

Back from the doctor...took two attempts to draw blood and one left a rather impressive bruise.

Got a tetanus shot because I cannot recall when I had the last one.

They still want me to gain weight...at 101 pounds, I suppose that's not a bad idea but I have to remind myself to eat as I usually have no appetite. Have to work on that.

I did not recognize the nurse...she has lost so much weight (intentionally) that she is half the size she was when I was there last August.

Donating plasma. I had my annual physical at the donation center, and I'm making three stops on the way home, so it's a long day. Fortunately, I got a real early start.

I think I lucked out. I was looking at buying a Nakiri knife, and the Mercer 7" Nakiri was selling for $30. I like Mercer knives, and it was only a few dollars more than the no-name brand Nakiris, so I ordered it. I go to check the order details this morning, and it says that I ordered the 7" Usuba, and links to a different page than the one that I remember. So I rush to Whole Foods to resolve the issue, as these things grate on my nerves until they're settled. I have them open up the package at the Amazon Counter so that I can return the Usuba, and inside was the Nakiri that I thought I had ordered. It looks like the one I ordered is now listing as a Usuba, but the package says Nakiri. I'm a bit confused, but if the edge is double-bevel instead of single-bevel, then it's not a Usuba. This model is listed as a Nakiri on Mercer's website, so I'm a bit confused. I'll have to open the package to check the edge.

ETA: Mercer doesn't list a Usuba on their website, so I'm guessing they're calling this a Usuba to differentiate from a slightly different Nakiri that they sell.

Vacuum sealing some meat. I decided to freeze the split chicken breasts instead of practicing my knife skills on them. I need to focus on everyday housework instead of trying out new things.
