What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Playing some Elden Ring while I work up the courage to go out in the cold. Dodging is your most important skill in Elden Ring, and when I first bought the game, I couldn't figure out how to execute a dodge. After a few months, reading online, I figured out what I was doing wrong.

Paid for three price lock passes on Uber since the prices are going to skyrocket during the upcoming holidays.

I've never used Uber. I'm scared to. I'm afraid it will cost more than I expect, so I've never bothered to try it.

It typically depends on the time of day, weather conditions, what day it is (like a holiday), and the distance.

I'm only ten minutes away from work. It used to be a regular $10 or less fee per ride. Like today, Lyft was too expensive. $15-17 for a normal afternoon? No thanks. So I went went the Uber price lock of $11.

Sometimes, if I'm lucky, I can get a ride between $7-9.

How strange is it that we went from "Don't get into a stranger's car" to "There's an app for that."

Seasoning a new carbon-steel skillet. Somehow, I got the lid on the tin of seasoning wax screwed back on so tight that I couldn't get it off. I finally got it off with the help of a jar lid removal aid.

Just received my Walmart delivery order. The driver was a woman who was trailing three young children. That's unexpected.

It really depends on your local market too. Right now where I'm at, a 2 minute ride to downtown is $14 and a 25 minute ride to the airport is $58 (and usually higher). Really the only advantage I see to using it here is I know the price in advance. I really wonder how much of that goes to the driver.

Watching football. My nurse isn't coming in the morning, so the stuff I was going to do beforehand doesn't need to be done. Yay. Sloth wins!
