I can just see it - we all go to rexbeccarox's place for din-din, and every single one of us brings the potato salad.

I'll bring steaks.

Who else will bring what?

Listening to Ultravox and driving myself insane trying to remember the name of a mostly electronic band from Montreal who contributed a song to a car commercial a few years back. I can't remember the car or bandname, or even a lyric.

hope to pass VCP 5.5. This training module is so boring.

Steak. I could use a good steak. Afghanistan doesnt have any of that.

Wrapped up the turkey day shopping, and starting to contemplate all the food prep that has to happen tonight.

Think I'll have a couple glasses of wine first.

Nonsense, we plan. Given her menu we need pita bread, hummus, baklava, Greek salad with feta, baba ganoush, a variety of olives and sweet peppers, and stuffed grape leaves. I'll bring the stuffed grape leaves.

Pies baked. Crescent rolls in the fridge ready to roll out tomorrow, onions, mushroom, and celery sauteed and ready to make stuffing, ham and mushroom quiche in the oven for tonight.

That sounds great, Jenny, except nobody bring baklava please. I have a nut allergy!

Spanakopita is finally assembled and ready to go into the oven tomorrow. It's such a lengthy process. I only make it when it's been requested of me. Last time I made it, I didn't even get a bite!

Right, nobody kill the cook with nuts.

Just pulled the pumpkin cheesecake out of the oven, and into the fridge. My, it smells good. It took a hell of a lot of willpower not to stick my finger in it.

I am snapping green beans now.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
