God is NOT dead

Hercules and superman I am very disappointed in you.
This looks like a film to avoid. You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.
Is there actualy a single movie out there, which has a plot that tries to push an agenda, that is any good?
Well if God's not dead then the standard for asserting His existence is lower than it is for the Ivory Billed woodpecker.
Looks like a movie for the masses. Antitheist atheist college elite threatening the faith of the pure of heart. That ought to play well in the bible belt.
It is not that he is teaching atheism or even trying to get his students to critically analyse their beliefs, but actually he is coercing his students to give up their beliefs. Hmmm...
Friedrich Nitzsche.
One of the greatest German minds of all time. And also a man who has been abused by demagogs all throughout history. His works were abused by the nazis to justify antisemitism, abused by the est german communist regime to further socialism and now we see him quoted and used by a bunch of moronic hillbilly assholes who probably dont even know that he was German let alone what his work was mainly bout.
So, who here is going to bite the bullet for the rest of us and go see this?
I'll put on my Prophet hat for a minute and state that the professor character will not be able to refute any of the simplistic, fallacious arguments the student will use. You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
How could god be dead if there never was one to begin with? Hercules is a bad atheist.

None off the top of my head, but I figure that there are some. It really just depends on how prominent the agenda is. The more prominent it is, the more likely that the differing points of view will have to be made very simple and very extreme. Apply the old Hollywood villain/hero formula and you get a film that will entertain those on one side of the issue and be unwatchable for those on the other. The trailer for that movie sounds like a number of the ideas and discussions that have floated around these forums and which get discussed in much more depth on places like Youtube, where there is an endless stream of pro/anti-god/atheism content. Why pay to watch a movie you've seen over and over for free?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
