If that is true, then ...
But I don't believe that.

Rep is for life and it's one rep per member. But you can always update the message, if you want to
Ah ha.. Does it notify you if your rep was updated?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I sometimes give kudos to a post without having read it, simply so I can klick on "The Germans are coming" and see if I received any kudos recently.
Does anyone else do that to?
Generaly I believe I dont give enought kudos, even when a post by someone is really great, I just forget to give kudos.

I've never seen this stuff before and I'm not sure how it works. Thanks! Good question...
You have as much rep in 5 days
as I had in five weeks. I think it's
just one of those "in crowd" things.

But your arguments have been for the purposes of learning and communicating, not for the sake of arguing.

Again, I don't doubt it. Your presence as admin here has done as much to impress me as many of the atheist voices here have.
People like you, who do so much to learn about others, do much to build bridges with people like me, who know so little.
I had to google this, so I hope it is appropriate:
as-salaamu alaikum
Edit PS: I really hope "as-salaamu alaikum" means what I think it means- "peace be upon you," and not "may goats have their way with your mother" or some such. The internet is a tricky thing.

Arguing for the purposes of learning and communicating > Arguing for the sake of arguing
Don't you agree?

Don't you agree? It's funny to argue over this ( ), but I don't agree. My experience of most theists who come to atheist sites is that they just want to argue- mostly to see their own arguments in black-and-white, which is reassuring. If you are genuinely trying to learn, you are trying to come to a place where arguments become agreements to disagree.
I have been on Christian forums occasionally to ask questions about things I don't understand. I ask my questions as politely as I can and often ask many follow-up questions. It is not my intention there to argue at all- only to learn the answer to my question. If I am tempted to argue, I usually hold it in check, because I came to a Christian house and I'm not going to put my muddy shoes on their rugs. Usually, this experience ends up being really positive and I learn things I didn't know, and I try to leave them with an experience of an atheist who wasn't a rude asshat trying to cause trouble in their community.

I do the opposite of that ^ so I refrain from going anymore. Catholics make my nose twitch.
