I've read a lot of the novels and used to watch the reruns on Space Channel, haven't been doing that lately.
I have not the slightest interest in learning Klingon, so I guess I'm not a real Trekkie fanboy. Too old for that at age 72.
No surprise TNG is my favorite series.
I chose Picard as my avatar because of the humanistic values of the Star Trek universe. Also I am bald, so it's sort of truth-in-advertising.

I've seen the whole thing, expcet the new "fan-based" Star Trek Phase 2, or new voyages...
Anyway, Since I grew up with TNG, that became my favorite... I even built a LEGO enterprise-D, very small, and square saucer, but it was my very own enterprise, so shut up! The saucer section was detachable just like in the series!
I quite enjoyed Voyager.... maybe the teenager factor + 7of9 + it looked a lot like TNG... I don't know... but yes, it did have way too much time traveling, which is always a stupid plot device.
Enterprise also had too much time traveling and I guess that was its biggest flaw... T'pal, on the other hand.... Had a bit too much silicone to be a vulcan!
TOS... well, the stories were good, the SFX and props weren't so good, but hey, they were the first and deserve our respect!
DS9 is a bit different, but still good, although they spend way too much time preparing for the war...What was it?... 2 or 3 seasons of that!! meh.
The movies, some are ok, others are meh... I kind of liked ST V, which lots of people claim to have been the worst... it does have one of the most memorable sentences from the franchise: "what does god need with a starship?"
The new JJ Abrams movies.... changed the whole canon, so.. meh, it's like a new version of everything, with the same names as before... I hate all that lens flare in the ship.... what's with that?!

However, nothing, and I mean nothing compares to Flash Gordon - the movie with the Queen soundtrack. You don't know the meaning of the word camp till you've seen that.
TOS and movies 1 and 2 were the only parts of the entire franchise in which not everyone has both been both neutered and rendered complacently stupid.

How can you let that crass, piggish words pass you lips in a discussion about Star Trek?

The words captain Humpty Dumpty comes to mind.

Little dick syndrome.
It's not the strong woman in charge in Voyager that ruins it. It's the fact that the rest of her crew all behave as though they have very little dicks that makes the show unwatchable.

I've always thought of Janeway as the female Kirk. She's bold, eccentric, crazy, sticks to her guns, and even joins the away missions more often than not. Don't get me wrong, Chuck; overall, Picard is still the best captain, and Spock is the best first officer.

Picard is not only the best Captain; he's the sexiest man in all observed star systems.

I watched Into Darkness on Blu-ray a few nights back. It went a bit pear shaped towards the end, but it's one I plan to add to my collection very soon. (And I adore Cumberbatch.)
The only one I haven't watched is Enterprise, largely because I don't like Bakula. Though I suppose if I can suffer through Mulgrew's wooden, lifeless acting, I can stomach Bakula. I also missed a good part of later DS9, largely because it started getting silly in later years.
Speaking of Romulus, one of my favorites was when the Romulan defects in TNG ("The Defector"). That and The Best Of Both Worlds are probably favorites, along with Balance Of Terror in TOS, and the one where Data has a child, Lal (played by the excellent Hallie Todd). Top honors have to go to the Q episodes, followed by the Borg episodes, followed by the earlier Lore episodes. Really though, it's an embarrasment of riches as I could list favorite episodes ad nauseum.
I must also say that I really like the characterizations in the new movies, especially Scotty.
Best character, Commander Data. Best moment, the eulogy for Dr. Ira Graves.
Enterprise starts out slow, but picks up speed. I think once you move past all the xindi epesoides they start to build on TOS lore, and it really becomes good. (Why TOS series klingons had no ridges on their heads, More about the Orions, the Vulcans, Andoreians) they also had lead ins to TOS epsoides like "the tholian web" and Mirror Mirror. (the douppleganger epesoide.)
semi Enterprise spoiler:
Favorite Moment, when Will Riker turns around at the comms station in the Last epesoide after Archer spoke to him. I nearly fell out of my chair!

Never liked 7 of 9. The character, that is. Sensuality is not just brass tits and cybernetic ass.

Star trek never stooped to Jar Jar Binks.
