Abiogenesis is impossible
RE: Abiogenesis is impossible
(August 24, 2014 at 1:58 am)snowtracks Wrote: read this part before posting - 'the hull was built by welding the metal hulls.' but still think it's a fair representation.

Fair representation? The ship was built using materials and techniques unavailable to Noah! It literally is not the same kind of ship that the ark would have been! How is a ship with a metal hull a "fair representation" of a purely wooden ship?!

Moreover, you're missing the point entirely: a purely wooden ship of that size would sink. An iron reinforced ship of that size would sink, or tear itself apart, we know that for a fact. If you want to claim this is an okay representation wouldn't you then have to admit that the only reason this ship stays afloat is because it has an iron hull? And that hull was unavailable to Noah, therefore making his ark physically impossible?

And that's me being very kind to you. You don't get to cheat, Snowy. This replica isn't anything like the original ark in terms of construction, and you don't just get to pretend that it is because it's convenient for your rapidly crumbling argument.

The problem with such a long wooden vessel as the ark is that in choppy seas parts of it wouldn't be supported by water and it would break apart.

And do you think noting that your ridiculous position is frustrating somehow counts as a rebuttal of my argument? Thinking

That could be part of the problem. You're not used to being questioned.

And the moment I find anything by Dawkins, Krauss, de Grasse Tyson et al saying anything even remotely similar to "if you don't listen to me you'll be punished and you'll deserve it", you bet I'll quote it.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Did you have a stroke while typing that?

My feeling aren't hurt....what.....where did you get that from?
It was an alternative way of saying: your grammar and spelling is so bad, that I could not understand what you typed.
