These unsaved trash heaps worship science with all those facts and repeatable experiments and peer review and all that logic. They only have science but we have Jesus. And in the words of Pastor Deacon Fred, "you don't need facts when you got Jesus".

Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
The great thing about science is that it doesn't require worship.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

It should appeal more to atheists as God is entirely irrelevant to it. Or perhaps Raelianism would appeal even more, God is an alien, perfectly scientific and nothing at all supernatural about it. Though if God was a created being there's the classic question of who created God and who created him and so on. Atheists like to try and apply that to an eternal God who always existed without understanding the point. This guy here is technically in the same camp as you. Does he look like the a figure of enlightened reason? This is what what can happen when you start to claim God doesn't exist or is irrelevant, daft cults like Scientology and Raelianism. Quote:At least we would know a golden calf were real. Science is real it just isn't God. It's a tool to understand the creation of God. Quote:But why anyone would want to worship it is beyond me. Worship doesn't have to mean waving your arms around and blowing a trumpet at something. It's what you're ultimately invested in, your Holy of Hollies the ultimate truth, the be all and end all.

Well, their version of god has the same amount of evidence the christian god has: Zero, Nada, Nyet, nothing.
I love that line "find out what is true for you" when it comes to learning about the universe. It essentially means, "I believe what I want to believe and say it's true."
