Vinny is obsessed with philosophical labeling. The bare fact is, all or almost all of us would have been comfortable hanging out with Carl Sagan and his friends as there are no stark ideological differences between us, as opposed to theists.

Aye I have read some Carl Sagan and I agree with him on many things and I find his insight is often amazing. Just here he is dismissing a definition that most of us have dismissed too.

This subject has been discussed countless times. You are merely opening this thread because you can add the name Carl Sagan, and believe that it would somehow somewhere add somekind of weight to your pathetic possition. I for one am not impressed more by something if a famous name is added under it, maybe you are, and maybe you are the only one on thif forum.

My rejection of religion is not simply a rejection based on scientific discovery alone. It is also a rejection based on the personal need to determine myself aswell as a rejection based on moral values. Since I rejject the values of people like you for reasons that you have shown yourself by being one of the most disgusting members of this forum.

This is why I warn famous skeptics not to try to adapt superstitious language and water it down to make it earthy. It allows dumbasses to attempt to twist their words. Same thing has been done with Hawkins and Einstein. It would be nice if believers would simply understand that this is reducing a god concept to a metaphor for nature. But they are too dumb to understand we use words in different contexts.

I don't stop at rejecting all invisible Poofdaddy claims for scientific reasons, but especially with the big 3 monotheistic comic books, the head characters are bloodthirsty selfish narcissists and morally repugnant. It certainly would be frightening if those fictional characters were real.

Mr Sagan seems to be setting you up to believe in his poorly considered old shite. Atheism makes no demands about how an atheist arrives at the position where they assert that deities do not exist. His attempt to redefine atheism to fit his personal thoughts is risible.

With his premise removed the rest falls into billions and billions of tiny pieces...
