Oldest Galaxy Yet.....

And I can't help but wondering where z8_GND_5296 fits into the Abrahamic god's plans for humanity?
Well, their holy book is off by a few bilion years. Nothing that pauses their bullshit.
I thought this was the oldest Galaxy:
![]() Quote:This galaxy we're seeing is almost 13.1 billion years ago and so this was something like 8 billion years before our sun was even born Just think, it's possible that we're seeing light from that galaxy and they don't even see light from our sun yet.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
Wow, teach those guys some math. All this means is that the universe is really 10,001 years old. GET THEE BEHIND ME, SATAN!!! (and don't grab my ass while you're back there, you fuckin' perv)
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
-Stephen Jay Gould
So... if this galaxy emitted light 13 billion years ago... then "we" were already a few billion light years away from that galaxy.... how long did it take for us to move so far apart?
