Scenario One: I am an atheist. I am in the mall and I see an elderly woman drop a $10 bill on the ground. I pick up the bill and return it to the woman who dropped it; why?

Scenario Two: I am a Christian. I am in the mall and I see a young man drop a $10 bill on the ground. I pick up the bill, and instead of returning it to the man who dropped it, I slip it into my pocket; why?

Scenario Three: I am a Christian. A woman cuts me off in traffic. Frustrated, I honk my horn for a long while and I yell out some choice words; why?

Scenario Four: I am an atheist. A man cuts me off in traffic. Frustrated, I grip the wheel, muster a smile, and carry on with my journey without angst; why?

Theists and atheists are welcome to contribute. Feel free to respond to any or all scenarios as you are lead. I’m still working out some details of the “moral dilemma“ and I would appreciate any and all input. Thanks.

A rewrite:
1) I am an atheist. I'm in the mall and see an elderly lady drop a 10 dollar bill, I put it with the rest of the money I stole and go buy some meth, singing "Oh Happy Days."

2) I am a Christian. I'm in the mall and see a young man drop a 10 dollar bill, I pick it up and return it to him. After a chat with him I understand he's a struggling student and Give him a 20 dollar bill from my wallet, I leave singing, "Oh Happy Days!"

3) I am a Christian. A woman cuts me off in traffic, I feel a rage grow in me because my children could have been harmed, God reminds me kindness is a virtue and I thank Him an lay off the horn I wanted to so badly blow.

4) I am an atheist. A man cuts me off in traffic, I feel a rage grow in me, because there's no God to remind me of kindness I grip my gun and blow out the man's brain, with no remorse I leave the scene, singing "Oh Happy Days."

Just thought it fair to balance out the two world views.

In reality people do not always respond to things the way they should, I think you've brought the case for "why" we need absolute morale standards. Without them all that is written above is fair game.

1. Meth is a disgusting, debilitating drug, though I would question if it's worse than christianity, as it seems easier to quit meth. So I don't do that, but also, I would never sing 'oh happy day'.

3. You realize honking a horn isn't always in anger but to make sure that person is aware of your presence... In my town there's an overwhelming amount of winter visitors. That is, people who are really old and oft times horrible drivers. They don't always realize they're cutting you off, or that the yellow dotted lane next to them is in fact a turning lane so they can please get the fuck out of mine.

4. I don't own a gun, but I have had enough proper training to understand that guns are not toys and never to be used in times of frustration such as that.

You know, I just can't pass up a feed like this.

You ask why a lot. Judging from your scenarios, I'd say the reason "why" is because you are MPD and BPD with some short-term memory issues thrown in for seasoning.

Because she is my mother and I am only 6 years old. Here mommy. You dropped our money.

Because the young man had just stolen my wallet and as he was running off he dropped some of my money.

Because yelling out "God bless you!!!" to your 'enemy' is good therapy.

Meth is probably the worst of drugs, I've seen it's effects, I had to remove the neighbor from the girl he was beating with a pistol on my front porch. She crawled all the way to my house on her hands and knees through gravel to try and get away, it was an awful sight. Both of these were non believers, the response of two Christians saved her life. Make of this what you want, but Christians and their faith that God would protect them from possible AIDS, she was a bloody mess and a heavy drug user and the man had already threatened me before this incident.

I would to and should have put that in what I wrote, I'm glad you are a person who appreciates good deeds.

I do realize this, you must be in Florida were the old migrate like birds.. I do try to be patient with older drivers, I'll be there sooner than I would like.
All I was trying to do is make a point of equality and a need for absolute moral standards, not trying to run down atheist, sorry if I lead you to that conclusion.

I never meant all atheist would do such a thing, a little drama to focus on a couple of points. I'm glad you understand the dangers of guns, so many do not, the consequences are high when one uses a gun against another even in self defense.
