Well, if you want more Bible in your American politics, today wasn't really your day. Gay marriage in Illinois, arch-Christards Cuccinelli and Jackson both lost in Virginia, and a Teabagger even lost in Alabama.

Confucius said the nuclear family is a microcosm of The State. Guess what the selfish, hedonistic cult of godless individualism is doing to America? Legalize marijuana. Legalize gay marriage/adoption. Knock yourself out Team USA RE: Illinois to become 15th state to recognize marriage equality

I know you miss the days of slavery, genocide, institutional racism, workers having no rights and only white Protestant males having personal freedoms and civil rights. Too bad. You lost. It's sad that you think same-sex "marriage" is some sort of victory that will deliver you from all that bad stuff. Slavery won't go away simply by chanting tolerance über alles. Personal "freedoms" haven't done anything to reduce the number of slaves chained to their heroin addiction. Freedom and the personal pursuit of hedonist liberty is what drives the excesses of capitalist greed. Have you seen what the modern day slave owner looks like? He wears clothes made in the slums of Bangladesh and India and China. He thinks that he is doing his slaves a favor by letting them work to make the disposable crap he uses for a few months then buries in landfill. I-pad. I-phone. I-pod. The "I" is a deliberate personal pronoun. 'Tolerance' hasn't made any impact on the number of sex slaves and prostitutes. How has gay "marriage" reduced the scourge of child pornography on that bastion of freedom - the Internet?
Canada's still around, so is all the other countries that legalized Gay Marriage and those were nation-wide.
Good for Illinois. I hope for my state to follow suit, but I don't expect that to happen any time soon. Yeah, amazing how the party of American Christianity and the party which not only enables third-world slavery but wants to bring it back home with them, are the same party. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you? I'm not even joking. This is the most amazingly stupid and nonsensical collection of counter-arguments (for lack of a more appropriate term) I've ever had thrown back at me, and that's saying a lot considering how long I've been here. Do you have any legitimate reason(s) why a same sex couple should NOT start a family? Boru

Lion, if you're really concerned about "saving marriage," then why don't you preach against divorce to your fellow Christians? It's a fact that fundamentalist Christians get divorced at higher rates than atheists do. Also, if you're concerned with saving marriage, why fight against allowing more people to get married and instead focus on why so many heterosexual couples prefer to live together as a family without going through the formality of having a wedding? This is what I see as the real threat to traditional marriage.

No, I see it as a victory against oppression and bigotry, aka "tyranny of the majority." Actually, allowing same sex marriage will cut down on premarital sex, since all those previously "hedonistic" people having sex outside of marriage would then be married. But I guess conservative Christians didn't think about that.

Now, Hawaii. Quote:Hawaii was poised to become the 15th state to legalize same-sex marriage Tuesday evening after state senators sent legislation to Gov. Neil Abercrombie’s (D) desk. There IS nothing wrong with sexual promiscuity outside of marriage. Thanks to the most natural drive on earth, the sex drive, you exist. Besides, you and your kind are the most guilty. You can refer to most of your preachers and church elders. Every other week, you've got another man-of-god sticking his dick where it doesn't belong. The history of your religion is sexual deviance and secret abortions yet here you are on your pious soap box preaching your self-righteous bull shit. Quote:20 years ago they were screaming how old-fashioned and out-dated the traditional concept of the nuclear family was. Free love, no fault divorce, abortion on-demand, defacto marriages, children out of wedlock... Umm, Yeah, doesn't it just suck when two people with different views want to have the same civil rights as you. I know I hate that when people demand equality ... it's so frustrating isn't it. |
