It's just a goddamn number!

RE: It's just a goddamn number!
And here I thought the number was 636. I did have a roommate who paid one dollar more on our first month rent so that he did not have to pay 666 dollars.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

I overpaid my rent once. Didn't have change for the cents portion so I rounded it up to the next dollar.

The next day I had a love letter from land lady telling me not to overpay.

Bitch.

Oh well, her loss.

It's what people have made of the number(s).... on both sides of the issue.

Why do people avoid "13"... including planes, hotels, businesses etc?

When you are brought up to be superstitious....

Neil DeGrasse Tyson talked about this once. About how elevators avoid 13 (in the west, in parts of the east it is the number 4), and avoid negative numbers and why it is a problem.

That is so true, from my own experience dealing with a lot of kids' math, these people are afraid of negative numbers. They suddenly suck at simple calculation once negatives show up.

Everybody knows that deities don't like numbers.

...unless they do ...

...right until they don't.

....uh yeah, deities are fucking idiots. Undecided

I used to ring up milk at a convenience store one penny under so with tax it would ring up 6.66 just to watch people squirm. (I always made sure to change it back but the initial responses from the Christians were hilarious).

The thing is that Revelation doesn't actually say that 666 is the number of Satan. It just says that it's the number of the beast, however Revelation 13 talks about two beasts, and doesn't state that either of them are the devil. That's just an assumption that Christians made.

But given all the other crazy crap in Revelation, it's a wonder anyone puts any stock in the 666 nonsense at all.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.
