Polytheism vs. Monotheism

RE: Polytheism vs. Monotheism
????????

If neither can be judged evidentially, then they both can't be judged rationally, I say.

Putting aside atheistic beliefs for the moment and all rationality in the world, which one seems more like a realistic/reliable system; polytheism or monotheism?

Putting aside rationality?

"DONKEY!"

There's my answer without any rationality whatsoever. Did it make sense to your question? No. You know why? You wanted me to suspend my rationality.

And with my rationality I'm going with the evidence thank you very much Tongue That's how the probability is to actually be measured.

Evolution is extremely likely to be true, due to it's extremely high quantity and quality of evidence. If it lacked evidence it wouldn't be so probable that it is true, just as God isn't so probable because, as far as I know, he completely lacks evidence.

And the more complex a belief the more evidence is required. And more gods=more complex than just the one god, even if one alone is still extremely complex. Hence it requires more evidence for more than one, so without any evidence, it lacks even more evidence because it demands more evidence, and by that rational evidential judgement - is more improbable than 'just' the one god.

Multiple gods with limited power seems more logical than one god with unlimited power.

Perhaps the gods were aliens?

Or maybe life is an illusion, and we're all a part of some massive computer-like brain that created/controls the world around us? Maybe just yesterday, our whole life-history was impanted into our memories, or rather, our section of the giant brain? lol

I would say so yeah.

That would be the case if the other gods were all limited.

If he wants me to answer his probability question whilst suspending evidence, then he's asking for me to give a truly nonsensical and meaningless answer which I don't actually agree with, or believe in in any way whatsoever. It would also be misleading, if he actually gave my response suspending evidence any actual thought.

Just choose which one seems more probably (DO NOT GO INTO EVIDENCE AND SHIT!!):

A religion with multiple gods? Polytheism?
Or a religion with one god? Monotheism?

THAT'S ALL. WHICH SEEMS MORE FUCKING PROBABLE!?! ;-;;;

Lol ^_^ Appearances can be deceiving. In example... say that there is a stretch of wall and what looks like a door in the middle of it. It could easily just be a part of the wall. another door could be hidden within the wall near it.

This is why it depends on how the god / gods are defined Smile Neither is more or less likely... because there is nothing to base that likelihood off of Smile
