Polytheism vs. Monotheism

A priest, a philosopher, and an atheist are trying to decide which god is real.

The priest says, "Lets draw a circle on the ground and throw 100 coins in the air and if more of the coins land outside the circle then God is real."

The philosopher says, "Well, what if we aren't real?" Thus dodging the question while he runs off to the atheist forum to start a "Non-existence" thread.

The atheist says, "Lets write every god's name on a coin and throw them up in the air and whichever god is real that coin won't come down!"

Oh, and lol at the exchange between EvF and Tails; fucking priceless! EvF doesn't do "suspend disbelief."

Or a religion with one god? Monotheism?

I recommend that you actually listen to the responses I made to this question up above.

I can't discern the question of probability without evidence coming into it. How on earth am I supposed to do that?

And you requested I suspend rationality, how am I meant to do that and still make sense?

The one that is the most probable. And probability, at least to my knowledge, can't be discerned non-evidentially.

I fail to see how we can completely separate probability, making sense, and evidence...

Well if I'm an idiotic monotheist who reads, say, the Bible or the Koran, I'll be most probably be partial to that, and consider one God more probable...

If I'm an idiotic polytheist like say, an idiotic Hindu (I don't know many forms of polytheism really lol) on the other hand, then I'll most probably be partial to polytheism, and hence believe in many Gods.

But that should go without saying. If I was a theist I wouldn't have evidence on my side as far as I know, so I'd have to be in favour of whatever I believed... so if I'm a polytheist I'd believe in many, if I'm a monotheist I'd believe in one.

This is all obvious stuff that should go without saying. So I really don't know how on earth you expect me to answer your question if I am to not state the obvious like above, and I also have to suspend rationality/evidence!

If you're asking me to suspend rationality/evidence you're basically asking me to spout meaningless nonsense, and I consider that pointless, ultimately gratuitous, and even perhaps misleading.

As for your point about be being 'Too serious a person in general', I'd wager you 1. As absolutely wrong. I can be a fucking silly idiotic, at at least ostensibly to onlookers, 'over-enthusiastic' twat too you know? You may notice that if you read more of my posts!

You're just asking me to discern whether monotheism and polytheism is more probable, and yet you expect me to do with this whilst suspending rationality and evidence! Well, I'm sorry, I consider that to be pretty much a totally impossible task. And even if it were not impossible, how would I even know if I'd got it right... unless I judge with my rationality and evidential mindset?

If I am to choose and to suspend evidence, then I can't judge properly which is most probable or which makes the most sense. Regardless of if I was 'leaning towards theism' or not, I don't see how that makes a difference. Do you want my opinion or not? Lol.
