What do you expect it to be based on?

It requires no base. One doesn't have to substantiate disbelieve God, if there's no valid reason to believe in God in the first place.

Faith is baseless...so I don't need a basis to reject it. Faith, to be rational, needs a basis.... but it by definition can't have a basis as far as I understand it, so I don't see how it can be rational. Since faith is belief without evidence, and evidence is what is required for a belief to be rational, faith can't be rational because it can't have the rational basis that is evidence.

Well my position on it is that I reject it because it is - at least in my opinion, by definition - baseless.

And my answer is, yes it is baseless. But that is not a bad thing, because it doesn't need a base in order to reject something else baseless - for that's all atheism is, the rejection of something - almost certainly - baseless, i.e. theism.
