Who knows. Could be, might not be. If it does, then it too will simply have to be combated. Not that I think religion will die out, and if it will, not anytime soon.

I suppose that depends how we define religion. Strict adherence to a specific religion vs. deism vs. "spiritual but not religious" vs. non religious or spiritual in any sense of the word and all the others in between. All might give you a very different picture of how religion has grown/shrunk over time.

And that's why these people sell so well. If you devote a lot of time and mental energy to believing something, you love to have those beliefs validated. It's no different as to why conservatives love to listen to Rush Limbaugh and Fox News.
