I'm guessing I'll get a bunch of crickets, but, hey! It's worth a try!

You would need to define your terms - including what you think the word "god" means.

A strong agnostic would say - I have no knowledge of a god - and neither does anyone else. (Where knowledge is proven truth) He is NOT unsure - as theists like to claim.

Of course - that assumes a supernatural god like the xtian one.

Right. I'm just asking the local theists what they consider themselves to be.

I know that God exists, both intellectually and from experience, although I occasionally have my doubts.

When I was a Christian I was a gnostic theist, then agnostic theist, then just labeled as agnostic. My timeline, haha I bet more are agnostic than they realize.

Yes you're right it starts with child like faith and grows from there, seems you've been listening.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

I'm sure you're wrong.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Theist - someone who believes there is a God.
Atheist - someone who does not believe there is a God.
Agnostic - holds neither opinion - usually on the basis of insufficient evidence either way.

Belief does not work that way.

Belief is the psychological state in which one holds a premise or proposition to be true.

There is no 'in between' position. If one does not hold the premise that a god exists to be true, they are an atheist. One does not have to hold an active belief that gods don't exist to be an atheist.

Disbelieving the claim that a god exists, does not mean that one believes the inverse claim by default. Only one prong of a dilemma can be assessed at a time.

I do not believe there is a God but I may be wrong - still atheist.

IMHO and all that.

Your first statement above more or less describes an agnostic theist. Your second describes an agnostic atheist.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
