It all boils down to what's in the well. If garbage is thrown in, garbage comes up in the bucket. Consciousness is programmable. It is also resistant to false ideals. This is a cognitive dissonance for the person who continually immerses the mind in emotional stimulus. Impenetrability is the state in which two things cannot occupy the same space. We tend to think of this in terms of the material, but it works inside as well. Emotion can rule intellect. When this is the state of mind, the intellect is pushed aside by the stronger force. Knowledge is not intellect. Far from it. Knowledge is perceived axioms of truth, but wisdom is the proper use of what you know to reveal higher axioms as fact. Most people already possess a vast potential to absorb knowledge, but hinder the reception with low self-esteem.
Maslow covered this with his hierarchy of needs. If needs are not met well by the family in the early years, the later years are spent trying to meet those unmet needs. This is accomplished by self-gratifying behavior that feeds the ego and emotional need left by the family. Being nourished in a loving environment early in life leaves us satisfied, even if needs are missing later. Seeking knowledge is a byproduct of good self-esteem, but all the knowledge in the world will not help you unless you express it back out with wisdom.
This is because information is in formed. It must grow like a seed. Emotional intelligence is water to the seed. Intellect is light. It takes a well-founded heart to provide the soil. This is what the Christian faith can do for anyone. It's not the religion that accomplishes this. It's faith and love for the Spirit of God that prepares the soil. Once the soil is prepared, the heart blooms and wisdom rules the house.
Intellect over emotion is only possible when we have faith it is. Hope can only come from faith, which is our ability to collapse meaningful wave functions toward a determined future. This is what Hope is. It leads to Love. Love is the byproduct of faith and hope. The heart is the mirror, which allows you to see yourself in the other person. Once you do, you can never harm them. The law is removed. No need for law if you love others.
It's simple physics.

You know in the part you bolded you described the god of the bible perfectly?

-God rarely had contact and one only with one tribe at that before christ, and has not communicated directly with any person since paul.

-God ordered the genocide ofMidianites, Canaanites and Amalekites, to be slaughter with mercy and is angry when mercy is shown to the Amalekites. He has yet to show any remorse.

God demonstrates both.

I don't know, I haven't ordered anybody to dash the brains of infants against the rocks lately.
Not terribly concerned about condemning a guy who was a fraud and a blackmailer, if not outright fictional.
