Well, most of us came to atheism from christianity...
Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day
If there is no God....

Non fundamentalist Christians disagree with me but since my interpretations come from a fundamentalist/literalist background then I am sure you will find many fundies at least here in the states that agree with my idea of your god. I like the way you nit pick though fr0d0, because I stated what I meant by exist for example physical or spiritual being, you assumed that I meant he did exist as a physical being. I know that he is supposed to be some being that exist outside of space and time in some spiritual form or other that we cant possibly understand. But that is precisely why I don't believe in him anymore since he can't be reached without faith.
Your idea of god determines his existence based on subjective reasoning which really isn't reasoning at all. You read the holy book and believed everything that is in it as truth and outside of your mind and personal convictions no other evidence is required.

Well that's amusing that you can't believe in him because he requires faith... in fact it's hilarious. And you suggest this is common for fundamental/literalist Christians?!? Excuse me for knowing what Christianity is _actually_ about. For _everyone_.
Evidence is required just not that which logically can't apply. This is a hurdle you seem to have never crossed, incredulously. You were a Christian Sae?
I forgot fr0d0 faith is as real to you as objective evidence in fact by your posts on the matter it is even more reliable. Talk about deluded.

Well, I sure was raised to be one, and was in a completely Christian environment for most of my life. But I'm not sure if I was ever really a Christian. Sure, I 'learned' everything the others learned... I was in the same environment... and I read out of the same Bible and bible-studies/stories as the others... But wether I ever really believed? I do not remember... As for the faith issue... to believe ANYTHING is to have faith. But scientific fact requires but a blink of faith to adhere to... while religion requires a 9th dimensional leap through a wormhole of faith to accept as true. Try that unbeknown to you 'reasoning' chatty.. you never know what could happen - you could even say something remotely sensible sometime.
Well that's very surprising Sae, and interesting.
As if believing in god and Christianity based on faith is sensible? Really fr0d0 if faith is the foundation of every argument you can ever present to defend your beliefs then you are going to be stuck on stupid for a long time. No offense I just could not find a better way at the moment to express that last sentiment.

You are unworthy chatty
Faith is entirely 'reasonable' as it's entirely 'reasoned'. You can't make it what it's not and therefore acceptable to you. It is what it is.
Reasonable to you and those that are too lazy to think for themselves.

If it was reasonable, then it could be changed by reason.
