If development time is a metric for the "truthiness" of truth, why wouldn't an additional 2000 years of deliberation and fine honing be advantageous, even minutely, when compared to "hundreds of years"?

I can't see the logic behind this. From what standpoint are you assessing the "truth" of the bible? What would be an example of inferior or superior truth, compared to the bible?

On the topic that the bible covers it hasn't been bettered. 'Hundreds of years' can also encompass thousands of years of humankind developing this knowledge. Why is it hard to accept that in 2000 years we haven't bettered it?

We've moved in other directions. Science is one such direction.
