Why should the current generation of Germans be punished for the actions of their predecessors?

Should modern Israel be held responsible for the invasion of what became Israel and the slaughter of all the various people who lived there? We're talking written biblical "history" here.

No, the Jews should not be held accountable because what is described in the Bible probably didn't happen.

And, no, the Nais did not occupy Germany. Antisemitism is a deep rooted part of German culture. By not destroying the antisemitism in their culture, the Germans are committing a grave crime.
