You can also do this by quoting an older post and commenting on it as if anyone cares anymore!

Repeatedly post in threads which are 29 days old, just barely within time to slip away from the necropost warning which says:

"The last post in this thread was made over 30 days ago. Please consider starting a new thread."

Create polls with only two options that seek an opinion where no true dichotomy exists. Follow up with an indignant post acting befuddled by the fact that few are participating.

It's an excellent example, but it happens frequently. My intent was not to single yours out so we'll chalk up your reply to an example of the Streisand Effect.

That said, you either don't understand what a false dichotomy is or are painfully unaware of the vast spectrum of philosophical thought regarding ethics. The series of essays linked here can only be considered a primer.

No, while ethics is a lot more than simply altruism vs. egoism, it is still a correct dichotomy. It is like asking people if they are libertarian or authoritarian. There is a lot more to politics than that, but it is still a legitimate dichotomy.

Unless you haven't noticed, all the advice in this thread is worthless...

Please consider starting a new thread. But then, upon such consideration, post on the thread that has gotten old enough to warrant that message.
