Does it also include the "Duck and cover" advice the US government gave out during the cold war threat? Big Grin

I love the idea of Santa, the tree and decorations and the lights on the house, not so much the big electric bill for December. If you have kids you have to do the Christmas thing. I never decorate with a nativity scene. Those crack me up. All the people are white. You know I asked a die hard christian once why Jesus was so white, but all the people from that area are dark skinned with dark hair. His answer "People were a different color back then." He actually said that with a straight face, I shit you not.

That cracked me up. Thanks binny, I've heard things like that, but it doesn't hurt to hear stupidity incarnate suffer from an acute attack of foot in mouth disease.

Make the most of the few weeks out of the year where people go out of their way to wish you well. I think I fall under the "winter solstice" cohort and just treat it as a celebration of the brighter days to come. Gifts, trees, small children sitting on the laps of strangers in red suits... it's frontier fun Smile

Where can I get my deck? Big Grin Devil

My friend is making them. I don't think it's open for everyone to purchase them because she has to make so many already.

I've actually been plotting how to best subvert Christmas for the largest number of young children of possible. Not ruin, but something that will be them asking questions.

Maybe a pamphlet or sign along the lines of "Why does Santa give more to rich kids than poor kids? or "Why doesn't Santa visit Africa?".

I know this isn't helping my image of a grumpy old man, but it would bring me great joy to do this.

That's a good question Shock Why DOES Santa give more to rich kiddies? Thinking

My mother explained that to me when I asked the same question at age 5.

"The presents are not free. Mummy and Daddy have to pay for them.Father Christmas just delivers them".Mum told what was OK as requests from Father Christmas when I went to see him at the magic cave.

He was the REAL Father Christmas, having arrived with the pageant. The others at all the other stores were his helpers as Father Christmas couldn't cope with the demand all by himself. Smart children need creative lies. I was smart enough to pretend I believed until I was 8Angel
The card I sent last year.
