Allah? Jesus? Or Eminem?

What I dont understand is why theists have to lie so much? At 8.00 he claims that allah wrote about the orbits of the planets in the quran but hen we read the verse we see that it only mentions the (geocentric) orbit of the sun and the moon and the translation he uses doesn't even exist. For instance not one of the translations here says "they all float in an orbit".
Quote:36:40 http://quran.com/36/40 And here's the verse he quoted in more context. This is clearly not talking about the orbits of the planets, not unless we redefine the word planet to mean the sun and the moon. Quote:36:37 And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. http://quran.com/36/37-43 These hadith explain the true meaning of he verses. Quote:Volume 9, Book 93, Number 520: Narrated Abu Dharr: http://www.sultan.org/books/bukhari/093.htm Quote:Volume 4, Book 54, Number 421: , Narrated Abu Dhar: The Prophet asked me at sunset, ".. Narrated Abu Dhar: http://www.yanabi.com/Hadith.aspx?HadithID=126255 IMO, if you're going to claim that a book is the word of god then you should at least have the integrity to use that book as a basis for your argument, instead of pulling verses and translations out of your ass. Take a lesson from this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g84g2KJcUV0 And these kind of videos are all bollocks because they argue for the god of deism when they argue for a creator, a god which makes no difference to our lives, and then try to bait and switch us by pretending that it proves Allah is real and we should all live under shariah. When, in actual fact, the only evidence they have for their god is a book written by an ignoramus who thought the sun orbited a flat earth.
Who is God?
Tian, aka Heaven Inc. In 1651 BC, Tang of Shang, the benevolent Son of Heaven, having usurped the Chinese throne from a tyrant, became convinced that the droughts plaguing the country were punishment for his disloyalty to his old boss. He went up on the holiest mountain in the land and ritually threatened to do a sacrifice if the rains did not come. He threatened to sacrifice not a goat or an ox but himself. The rains came. Tang distributed golden coins so the families who had sold their children into slavery during the famine could buy them back. He died five years later. Then, in 470 BC, a great philosopher was born, named Mo Di, or Sky Ink. He was a carpenter, but rose to become a government official with his skill as building defenses against military sieges. But once in government he was appalled at the corruption and wealth disparity, so he left and founded a movement known as Mohism, based on the example of Tang and other such Chinese folk heroes. Since he was now the leader of a school, one dedicated to training his followers for government service, MoDi became MoZi, or Professor Ink. Mozi espoused such ideas as conformity to the Will of Heaven and Universal Love. These were written in a book organized to contain three arguments for each of Mozi's ten commandments. Modern scholars believe these may have represented three factions his followers broke up into after Mozi's death. But the movement failed to stem the rising tide of military aggression, and it was wiped out during a reign of terror known as the Burning of Books and Burying of Scholars. Perhaps some of his followers fled to the west on the burgeoning silk road. Maybe three of them riding together... |
