This person's lifestyle cost them their child (apparently murdered in front of them). That's what it cost them, but then how many other parents lost their children because of that person?
But you know, the interesting fact is that she claimed that "oh well I started using coke because I had to work 20 hours a day" - yep same reason that draws in many addicts.
Ah that brings back fond memories of our online debates!
Ah yes, I noticed your general high moral ground and demeanor regarding addiction, including tobacco and any vices the human being has.
If that's all you've got to offer is an example out of a greater population, perhaps you should consider that others could have the same train of thought regarding religion. I mean, I heard on some forums that a nut christian blowed up an abortion clinic or throwed a plane into a building, Therefore we should treat them with spite. Really?

Well thanks for the compliment, but my point is that I'm yet to meet someone honest enough to say they deserved gaol time. About 10 years ago a parent argued with me that he didn't deserve it because he was only a user. Of his two kids, one was already an addict and the other became an addict within the next year or so.
If I heard people like him actually take accountability for their actions I wouldn't complain - but I don't, it's all "me me me" and " I was in the wrong crowd" and a bunch of other excuses.

Hell, I deserve a lot of jail time for the shit I did when I was younger. I was just lucky and never got caught.
They were all victimless crimes anyway.

Drugs, drinking and driving. Stuff like that.
I grew up in the country where life was pretty boring. Everyone around my age used to drink and drive because if you parked somewhere the cops would come along and bust you for being underage with alcohol. So it's like they forced us to keep driving.
Me and my buddies used to drive down back roads in the middle of the night doing drugs, drinking, and listening to music.
It was a normal all weekend event.

In what way is drink driving a "victimless" crime? People are regularly injured or killed by drink driving.

Yeah, right. But an injury or death has to occur before you have a victim. I was lucky enough that it never happened. No one injured, no victim.
This was the back woods. You were much more likely to hit a cow than another human.
