What's the point of this life in Christianity?

Change is important, and that's a big problem with what's wrong with a religion that has an "all powerful, present, and knowing" deity. Sure it sounds cool to have a god that's more powerful than other gods. My sky god is more powerful than your mountain god. Unfortunately it leads to times when your "perfect" deity has no room for apologies and change when the world becomes more progressive around it. You have to start saying he didn't really approve of slavery, when he obviously did. By saying he's perfect, you push him in a corner where you have to ignore or reinterpret things that more modern audiences don't approve of instead of just saying "Yeah, he was wrong, and he apologizes.".

You can't claim that someone is perfect and the source of all that's good, because society will change over time and people who were considered heroes will be considered villains by more modern audiences. Or villains being considered heroes. Modern audiences would probably label Prometheus a hero more often than a villain, and Satan has some similarities to the Prometheus story.
