Lol, apparently nothing, he probably just watched Lewis Black for the first time ("Red, White and Screwed"), first impact that show has on some people is so great that occasionally they just spit random quotes from it for days ...
Some just uncontrollably laugh in public thinking about it too

It's a literalist interpretation of the bible he's taking seriously.

And by that do you mean the phrase "wage of sin is death"?

Separation from God (all that is good) is death. Life, is mental health. That's not what I mean, that's what the text means, to any strict translation.

This is fine for atheists who specifically don't believe in the christian god and specifically don't believe in the christian god because their only problem with gods existence is that they believe god should stop all bad things or they won't believe in him.
I don't believe in the christian god because I see no difference between the several sects of Christianity and any other cult that exists on earth.
It has nothing to do with god not stopping cancer or war, for all I know there could be a god of cancer and a god of war specifically causing these things, then I could say war and cancer are proof of gods. But like I said my disbelief has nothing to do with the bad things that occur on this earth.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

However the cause of sin is that he gave us all the greatest gift, free will. We can do what we want, he does not force anything upon our mind. If we choose to live a life of sin, it is our choosing. Man choose sin when Adam and Eve ate from the tree, they, by their own choice brought sin upon the world. God hates sin, but he said evil deeds must be punished, and he cannot go back on his word. So he sent his only son to die for our sins, to show us the price of our sin and to accept his free gift. God hates sin, but it is a product of man because he gave man the ability to do what he wants until death, when he is judged for what he's done. Since all sin, only accepting Christ in your heart can make you acceptant of God's Kingdom. Man choose sin, and God did all he could do to help them be absolved of it without invading their free will.
So atheists, argue over the existant of God all you want, but do not say he cannot exist because evil exists. The bible explains why it exists completely logically.
I think the 'flaw of atheism' is that ignorant people keep mis-defining it. But that's as may be.
Of course, there's an easy out to your false conundrum. Let us stipulate the following:
1. God loves us.
2. All God asks of us is that we do what He wants.
3. God wishes no one to come to harm ('harm' in this case we may define as suffering everlasting torture for finite transgressions).
4. God is the Creator.
5. God has given human beings free will.
I think that no theist would object to the above stipulations, except possibly the definition of 'harm', but we can split that rabbit later.
Now, given that we have free will, and God created all of us, why didn't God simply allow only the creation of those beings who would freely choose to do what God wants? In other words, you would have free will, but your free choice would always be in accord with God's desires. No evil, a God who provided the best possible outcome for those He claims to love...a tidy little package.
But no. It doesn't work that way. The omnipotent, omniscient Being who ostensibly loves us has given us a world replete with violence, hunger, disease, war, famine, etc etc. And theists have the temerity, the absolute brass-bound bollocks to say that we - puny, weak, ephemeral humans - have the ability to circumvent the power of the Creator of The Universe.
And you lot wonder why we laugh at you.

Oh? come on over to my thread titled 'a small thanks to the resident theists' and lets have a chat about it. Catfish dropped out, So did godschild. Come show me where it says hell is a separation from god.
Now that?
That was a dare
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.
Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.
Quote:Some people deserve hell.
I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Joseph Prince is good for a few laughs late at night when I have trouble sleeping, but he's still full of shit. When will you realize that all you have to do is provide evidence that a god exists and evidence that this thing is God, as depicted in your special book? Here's a clue for you; if that evidence existed it would be continuously shoved down our throats, but it isn't; therefore, the evidence doesn't exist (unless of course you are like KUSA and could believe that 2.18 billion Christians have conspired to keep the evidence a secret and that those leaving the faith are subjected to a MIB-style neuralizer).

So if I threw a copy of "God is not great" at you without context, while invading a space that you enjoyed hanging out in, would you at all be amenable to that?
