The Flaw of Atheism
February 26, 2014 at 6:52 pm
Atheists say "If God existed, he's evil because he lets bad things happen."
However the cause of sin is that he gave us all the greatest gift, free will. We can do what we want, he does not force anything upon our mind. If we choose to live a life of sin, it is our choosing. Man choose sin when Adam and Eve ate from the tree, they, by their own choice brought sin upon the world. God hates sin, but he said evil deeds must be punished, and he cannot go back on his word. So he sent his only son to die for our sins, to show us the price of our sin and to accept his free gift. God hates sin, but it is a product of man because he gave man the ability to do what he wants until death, when he is judged for what he's done. Since all sin, only accepting Christ in your heart can make you acceptant of God's Kingdom. Man choose sin, and God did all he could do to help them be absolved of it without invading their free will.
So atheists, argue over the existant of God all you want, but do not say he cannot exist because evil exists. The bible explains why it exists completely logically.

That word, "logic"... I do not think it means what you think it means.

The eating of the fruit in the story -- was that in itself an evil act? And the fruit of the tree was what again? I'm glad you find it as logical as I find it fictional.

No Adam. No Eve. No tree. No snake.

God changes his mind every five minutes in the Old Testament.

So God sent himself, as a man, to save the men - who he gave the ability to fuck up to - so that he could save them, by sending himself, to make up for how much man fucked up, because man was given the opportunity to fuck up by God?

So are you directly correlating the existence of evil to the existence of God, thus imbuing God with the ability to create evil?

The argument from evil does not posit that God cannot exist because evil exists. This argument points out a serious flaw in the 'benevolent god' rhetoric. The point is not that men do evil things, but that seriously bad things exist for no apparent cause except a malevolent deity if you choose to believe in one. Terrible diseases, natural disasters, genetic disorders---why do these exist? To punish people for their sins? For a god that created man knowing they'd be sinful?
Logic is not the word, my drive-by friend.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Some do. I don't get as far as entertaining hypotheticals for your god and if I did I certainly wouldn't base them on the bible. Can you seriously think of even one reason to think the bible has anything whatsoever to do with any god? I can't.

So now you're just parroting all that biblical bullshit. Guess you don't really have anything worth a damn to say.

Some do like to argue about God's existence. Not me. I'm quite sure He exists for you and others. I just don't think He is what you think he is. One thing you can bank on, the bible is irrelevant.

A few questions regarding this:
1. Did God create everything in the universe? Because if he indeed did, he must also be the one who created the serpent, sin and all the bad stuff too.
2. If we indeed have free will, why aren't we free to think and do whatever? Having the ultimatum of eternal suffering versus worshiping God doesn't seem too free at all to me.
3. If sin is a product of man, why didn't God design man better?
4. Why do God care how a human lives her life? What is it to him if she wears polyester and cotton together or isn't a virgin when she gets married?
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
