Bwahaha, you can't even count to potato!
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Well Peter was before Jesus' death so he was still under the law.

Yeah, the entire point of the New Testament is that human sacrifice and shedding of innocent blood somehow purifies the rest of mankind for our mistakes, most of which I'd say don't qualify for capital punishment. But in the New Testament, man is seen in God's eyes as the fallen creature, the lowest of all, the only deserving of unrelenting torture. See a problem yet?

Masturbation is good for you, so saying don't masturbate is not good advice. Especially since nowadays women are not considered property in civilized countries, and the response to someone raping a woman is not marrying the woman to her rapist.
Plus how can marrying a divorced woman count as adultery? Unless he was just talking about when the man is married.
Not speaking against slavery is wrong, whether he was directly promoting it or not.

"Jesus will tear famillies apart" That's because some will choose not to listen to him. Sure. That's fine. But you asked for bad stuff in the new testament. I would consider violence because I don't believe in the same thing you do a bad thing. Why ruin my whole family because I don't believe in God? My parents, brother, and sister are very religious. This quote belies the message of the NT that Jesus brings love and compassion.

This is in Paul's epistle to the Romans, after Jesus' death. He is not saying that one escapes death through Jesus in spite of these things, he is saying people who do these things deserve to die. Gossipers. Pre-Marital sex. Death. Bad.

(February 27, 2014 at 6:23 pm)JesusLover1 Wrote: "Marrying divorced women is adultery" Good advice Really? So a woman who is abused by her husband for years and finally divorces him should never have a chance at marriage again?
(February 27, 2014 at 6:23 pm)JesusLover1 Wrote: "The whole slavery thing" He doesn't promote slavery, but just says not to oppose them, which makes sense since Jesus tought to turn the other cheek. He never endorses slavery, just tries to help those who are in it. So if I created a book espousing a moral code, and I say in it that children being raped by priests should be obedient to the priests for they were chosen by God to represent him. I am not condoning child rape? Even if not directly condoning something, by acknowledging something terrible exists and not condemning it, am I not condoning it anyways?

(February 27, 2014 at 6:23 pm)JesusLover1 Wrote: "Non-Christians are the anti-christ" He means they are against Christ, therefore Anti-Christ. Not some demonic being, but it is true you're all against Christ. Calling people liars who don't believe the same thing you do is the epitome of bad. Do you consider yourself a liar because you don't believe in Mithra, Allah, or Zeus? What would you think about someone who called you a liar in the same light?

You conveniently skipped over the two warning women to be silent and not do their hair or wear makeup. And you have not clearly addressed several of the others in light of the question you asked us.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

So...... you're saying that before god made Jesus-on-a-stick, it was somehow morally acceptable to force a rape victim to marry her attacker? It was ethical to kill someone for gathering wood on a Sunday? It was righteous to stone to death disobedient children?
I don't know about god, but I don't think those things were any more ethical before the cross than after. In fact, I can't imagine a time when any of those things should have been considered anything other than morally repugnant. Why do the Jesus People™ seem to think that these things used to be so much more acceptable than they are now?

They think that the ancient people just wouldn't have been able to understand such drastic changes. Like Yahweh didn't have the ability to just say slavery is wrong, and women are equal to men, and killing ANYONE is wrong. He just didn't have the smarts or the resources to put a plan into action to change society in a way that modern audiences would accept.
It was just a cultural thing. Somehow the creator god let contemporary human culture dictate what was right and wrong back then.

John 10:30 "I and the father are one."
Jesus of Nazareth, by the logic of that verse, flooded the world and killed millions of babies and kittens.
