Indeed. Hence the need for 30 seconds of additional research which revealed that this guy is indeed invoking jesus as the inspiration for his snake oil, which he is selling for a handsome profit, presumably to people who believe his claims of divine revelation. So it it appear that the filthy heathen scum got it right and you got it wrong.

You still don't get it, I specifically asked about the story that HE LINKED because I know he would never admit to being wrong. The honest answer is that the word "Christ" doesn't appear anywhere in his article, but instead of admitting it, he avoids the question altogether.

Why do you assume I meant Christ? Because I wrote it? Clearly I meant Jesus, and was playing a word association game because Christ isn't a very common name.
You shouldn't make context-driven conclusions about text, Huggy!

That's not why you asked it, you little shit. You think people can't go back a page and see your conclusion sentence?
Quote:So I guess that makes it religious the same way scientists referring to the Higgs boson as the "God" particle makes them religious.
Since you're so obsessed with not making assumptions, where did I ever say the doctor or the shot were religious? What you did was make an inference based on context- the very same thing you don't want us to do when it reflects badly on your religion- and tried to distance that same religion from any sense of wrongdoing. Else why would you make reference to the doctor's religion at all, if all you were doing was trying to demonstrate that I wouldn't admit that I was wrong over a baffling, petty detail?

Damn!
I thought you were referring to my neighbour David Christ!
Damned assumptions!

The honest answer is that the word "Christ" doesn't appear anywhere in his article, but instead of admitting it, he avoids the question altogether. No, I get that. You tried to score a cheap point by inferring that someone had made an assumption not warranted by the article. That assumption turned out to be exactly correct, so his inference that the Jesus in the article was Jesus Christ, and not Jesus the mailman, very obviously turned out to be correct.
This is really irksome to me. Somebody, in the most cynical way possible, used the name of the christ you and I believe in to make a fast buck. As Christians we should be FIRST in the queue to deplore such behavior, its the name of OUR God and OUR religion that he's dragging through the gutter. The atheists, they don't have a dog in this fight! We DO.
And yet you give him the benefit of the doubt and criticize THEM for thinking the worst of someone who is clearly as guilty as a puppy next to a pile of poo.
This is one reasons I find it really hard to call myself a Christian some days

Hmmmm, you know what? I'll just let that one go. Maybe make a new signature.

That's funny, because my original bible says that slaves are property to be passed down, and yet you spent so much time in the slavery thread telling me how even though it was written down, it was an assumption.
But then, internal consistency probably passed you by a long-ass time ago, huh?

Speaking as a mod, you shouldn't attempt to misrepresent my posts by altering my quotes.

my exact quote:

As you can see I clearly do not condone what he did, I'm just saying not to generalize, and by Esquilax saying and I quote "Any True Believers wish to step in to defend the good doctor", he is clearly making a generalization.

Not at all: like any True Believer would, you've come in here and given us the spectacular bullshit that I was expecting when I wrote that line. Congratulations on managing to do that without actually saying a damn thing of merit, though; most would at least attempt to get a cogent sentence out about the topic at hand, while you manage to play the rational side of the scenario and still come out looking like a total non-cognitive.

If that sounds too good to be true, it’s in part because the doctor, John Michael Lonergan, 67, is a convicted felon – a former federal prison inmate who was convicted on eight felony counts (involving tax evasion, mail fraud, and healthcare fraud) in Ohio.
Three hundred dollars for a little Christ in your bloodstream.
Is it just me, or do all the really credulous people seem to be religious? Any True Believers wish to step in to defend the good doctor, or are we all going to go with the usual fallacies?
I mean, you'd have to be really, really whacked to let someone with that kind of background shove stuff into your veins.
Being painless is a disease because you hurt yourself without knowing it. They are medicated naloxone.
