If someone attempts to make some advancement, like build a better road, or construct a more modern medical facility, and I somehow prevent or delay it from happening, am I being a retardant? Or acting in retarded manner?

sorry what? are you hypothesizing ann rands straw men are real, as opposed to the history of the Jungle and the reason that the republican, Theodore Roosevelt, was both a republican and dedicated to the destruction of the real life heroes of Ann Rand?

Reality does not work that way.

I hadn't seen it like this before, and yeah, I think the OP is onto something there. But for the dear love of Dog, look up the proper spelling of the poor man's last name, my eyes hurt!

Yeah, Rand was a twit. Her arguments for libertarian free will were shit, her economic ideas silly (and the root of the legislative stupidity of many conservative lawmakers here in the US) and yes, just an arrogant, poor facsimile of Nietzsche while claiming to only owe a small debt to Aristotle.

Me no likey.

Here I was expecting a full assault by a randroid rapid response team and what I get is a hearty "yeah, so what?" Wonders never cease.
Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Fellow creators the creator seeks -- those who write new values on new tablets. Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - F. Nietzche

While there may be some parallells, I think it's a stretch to claim she's a copy of Nietzsche. Neitzsche's focus was on the operation of societies, whereas Rand was more of a philosopher of the personal. For Nietzsche, the Ubermensch was an exceptional character, that deviated from the norm; Rand seems to be suggesting that we are all, when properly understood, Ubermenschen.

No we are all when properly understood, retards.

If you disagree, you may either be more intelligent than me, or less, but if you impose dogma or faith in leu of facts, you will be the biggest retard, and well not an uber, but unter, mench.

Ayn Rand fails hard. And I say so after I read some of her books.
