My story: becoming christian because of a sickness tricking me

RE: My story: becoming christian because of a sickness tricking me
That sucks and all, but telling people to "Feel my damn pain" is awfully presumptuous. You don't know the people here. You don't know what anyone's been through. There may be people here whose experiences were even more painful than yours.

Mental health issues are challenging, and it's going to take work to live a normal life. But one of the keys to dealing with adversity is to avoid the "why me" mindset. The pity part will get you nowhere.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Will there be dip?

It was funny, though!
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Yes, but it will taste like tears and self-commiseration.

lol you guys are funny. I enjoy this place. I wasn't really looking for sympathy.. I was simply saying that it's the trippiest conversion story I've ever heard. Who wouldn't believe? I had to believe in christianity. Who doesn't feel some sympathy there? lol. I had no choice but to believe in CHRIST-INSANITY.
I hate the bible. I love that do as thy whilst stuff.

I didn't think you were overdoing the sympathy plea degenerate.

I'm also schizophrenic, and believe my schizophrenia played an integral role in my becoming insanely religious in hindsight. I can understand how much it sucks to be a victim of this disease, but at least now you have awareness; and with awareness comes clarity. Hope you are finding life better free from these religious delusions! (I am like you though in that I still have them from time to time, these religious delusions. I can't shake them, but I'm working on it..let's trade tips lol). Oh and disorganised thoughts suck...I"m right there with you on that ;P

Nutters unite!

Nice to meet you Smile

I can relate. I, too, have schizo-affective disorder. While I don't consider my illness to be responsible for my religious beliefs, I understand how hard it can be to know what to believe and why if you have such an illness.
