Lek, you are absolutely right about everything you said. I am in the exact same state as you described. I feel much better when I see that everything is due to my psychological disorder.
Cato-I have been learning English for 10 years, I think since 2nd grade. I have also read tons of books in English, so I have some basic understanding of English grammar. Smile Problem is, that I might have done some mistakes in the text I wrote, so that's why I decided to warn you that English wasn't my mother language simply because I wanted to avoid some hateful replies with people criticizing my grammar. Smile As for "ain't" I've been using this word in lots of online games I've played. Big Grin I didn't understand your last statement though. Could you try to explain it?

And again, thank you all for the responses, it really, really, really helps me guys! Thanks for the support! Smile

Your English is very good. I wish I knew a second language that well. "Ain't" is ok slang when you're hanging out with buddies, but isn't normally used in the professional world. Just some advice for you with your OCD problem. Realize that all those rituals you're going through are not what God wants. We have enough to suffer without going through the agony you're now experiencing. He knows that we can't be perfect. What he looks at is our hearts. We show our love for him by the love we show others. Talk to God like you'd talk to a parent or friend and tell him you're not going against him, but you're giving up all these rituals that are totally useless and you're putting it in his hands. Instead of looking inward, look outward. We try to live a good life and sometimes we fail and we get up and try again. He knows we're not perfect. If we were we wouldn't need him. He doesn't throw us into hell for trying. You can get through this and feel normal again.

"God" stops us from taking responsibility for our own lives. It's so easy to say, put it in god's hands, and then just sit back and believe that he will do these things for you. Then you wake up years later to find yourself worse off than if you had taken responsibility for own problems, and actually done something about them.

Do what YOU have to do, for YOURSELF.

I don't recognize it by the initials. I assume it's a related condition.

Sorry to find this funny, but it's really so comically cute in an unintentional way.

CBT = Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I know this not because of a simple Google search, which returns the answer at the head of its first page of similar results (perhaps you ought to try it sometime), but because I was made to undergo a course of it immediately after losing my Princess once it became clear that my depression was becoming acute. It didn't help, if anything made things worse, and I've since been advised by people including a clinical psychologist that CBT isn't an appropriate course of therapy for my situation.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Ok. I have heard of it and have considered it, but my insurance doesn't cover it, so I wasn't as motivated to pursue it as I would be. Sorry to hear of your situation.

Thanks, I genuinely appreciate that.

Sorry to hear that Stimbo. I recommended it because my dad suffers from OCD and he takes cbt courses which have helped him dramatically. Perhaps this shows different treatments work for different people.

Thanks, I think you're right. I learned afterwards that the CBT was only offered at all because the local health authority needed to have a therapy option available and CBT was the cheapest they could muster. Whether that's entirely true I don't know, though it did come from the counsellor I was seeing at the time (privately funded) and it would explain much. Good to know your dad benefits from the treatment however.
