I would say it's absurd if he actually thought that. He's just trying to get someone to suppress their Atheism by claiming it doesn't matter.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.

Sodomy has predominately been considered unnatural. That view has been changing.


If this is really eating you up...fuck it! Don't tell your parents! It's none of their business. If you can't be at peace unless you tell them, just be honest and speak from your heart.
