I do recall some fundamentalist arguments against Christmas, specifically Santa Claus, is that when their children find out it is a lie, they may doubt (rightfully so, in my humble opinion) other things like their faith for instance.

Yes. I like the line on wikipedia:

"(Some Christians) point out that the Claus tradition is a good example of how children can learn that they may be deliberately misled by their elders; this will help teach them to be cautious about accepting any other superstition or unsubstantiated belief."
