Eternity is a long time. How many trillinos upon trillions of years could a person stand, no matter how nice it was?
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.
Would you rather live forever or die?

Why would you think trillions of years later the undying you would still be the same you who would be burdened by the experience of having lived dreaily trillions of years ago? If you have already lived a trillion years now, but that fact is to you only as if an abstract knowledge, and not a viceral memory of unbroken tedium, would you not want to live on any longer?
I wanna Live until I shit my pants without knowing, my balls drag on the ground, and I cant box the clown
I always figured they'd invent immortality the day after I die. It'll be cheap, too. So there's that.

I don't mean you look forward to having a short life but would you rather die some day than live forever? Of course, if life were roses and euphoric all the time, no one in their right mind would ever want to die. But is life really all that great? I'd like to live from the evolution of the first human that could speak a fully formed language to the death of the last human. In the body I have now. Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason.
I don't want either. I'd like to live forever if the world stayed largely the same... But it won't. I also don't want to die because I always want to know what happens next and death means never knowing what will happen next. It's selfish, but there you go.
Living forever would be a hellish experience after everyone else had died off and I was the last person left. What if we never develop the technology to get off this rock and I am still here when the sun explodes? (assuming I'm indestructible as well as immortal) will I just float around space alone for billions of years with nothing to do, nothing to eat, nothing to drink, nothing to breathe? What if I end up on another planet after floating around for a few million years and there's nothing there? No life and no way out and I'm just trapped there until it's star explodes and I go through it all again? Or what if I end up on an inhabited planet? What would they do to me, an insane immortal alien? What happens if or when the universe finally dies? Death seems a lot less scary than immortality when you consider this shit. I guess the question would mean the earth would live forever as well.

I WANT TO DIE!!!!!
Living forever results in a dark, cold, lonely existence; therefore, I choose death.
