That, sir, is a lie. Do not get me wrong, you probably believe you are stating the truth, unaware of the fact that your view of the church is quite abnormal and redolent of serious delusion.

I know very little about it, which is odd because my wife is sorta catholic. She claims she is, but also believes in some wiccan, and doesn't believe in hell. She's told me a little about growing up as a catholic, and still claims to be one now even without attending church. I thinks she's turned into some weird religious mix breed at some point. Besides for some pedophile priests and other christian denominations disliking them, I don't see much of a difference from the rest of christianity though.
Again, conflating political cover up with child rape cover up - NOT THE SAME, DOUCHEBAG.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Take in the words of this quote all of you who associate the Catholic Church with nothing more than a bad image that was given Her in the past few decades: ""There are not more than 100 people in the world who truly hate the Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they perceive to be the Catholic Church. ....As a matter of fact, if we Catholics believed all of the untruths and lies which were said against the Church, we probably would hate the Church a thousand times more than they do."-Archbishop Fulton Sheen (April 30, 2014 at 10:07 pm)ducketto Wrote: You show me an institution that transcends time and space, that is centered on devotion to the Blessed Trinity, that makes the salvation of souls, not raking in the cash, its number one mission, that was founded by Jesus Christ Himself, that was entrusted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, that has a litany of Saints, that will defend itself to the last breath for the Truth it knows and loves and you find me and tell me that isn't EXTRAORDINARY. If every physician told his terminally ill patients that they were destined for a complete recovery, this might also set many of their minds at ease, but at the expense of the truth. The fact that religious faith has left its mark on every aspect of our civilization is not an argument in its favor, nor can any particular faith be exonerated simply because certain of its adherents made fundamental contributions to human culture. ~ Sam Harris

You consider a mass decades-long coverup of child rape to be slight? I am sorry, I do not curse very often, but you are bringing me to the brink of using profanity. You are one ignorant, delusional individual.
