Who Wants to Live Forever?

RE: Who Wants to Live Forever?
Polls. They work. Tongue

Also: yes for me. I have a bad memory, so it's not like I'd ever run out of "new" things to do.

I'd like to live at least long enough to know what the fate of the human race will be.

So that'd be a no correct?

I guess if you don't define reincarnation as immortality, I'd vote no, but I wasn't sure if someone would come in and say that was just another form of it.

Quite looking forward to being dead. I don't have to suffer the religious anymore.

Human stupidity really pisses me off!

No, I always appreciate a reboot. Death so freshens the palate. And who doesn't enjoy a change of perspective?

RE: Who Wants to Live Forever?
No. Forever promises a lot of cold, dark, and lonely.

I would like an extended existence if Chuck's requirements are fulfilled and mostly for the same purpose that Napoleon described.

Even this would present the difficulty of forming emotional attachments only to see loved ones age and die. Also, if I knew I was going to live for an extraordinarily long time I would change educational goals. I would be compelled to become a multidisciplinary expert to help coordinate human efforts in eradicating or mitigating facets of our existence that cause undue hardship and suffering.

Came in for Queen. Leaving satisfied!

And no, I wouldn't. As you live on, forever, the likelihood that you get trapped approaches 1. You'd eventually get trapped underwater, or under a rock, or pinned somewhere, for all eternity.

And if not, you'll somehow survive the Sun's expansion into a red giant, and I guess you'd just burn for a few billion years inside the sun, unable to die. Then, when it goes BOOM, you just float through space forever...until you hit another planet or moon...and repeat. Living "forever" would suck soooo hard.

I think I might give it a whirl as long as I can change my mind on down the line. I wouldn't mind seeing how life will turn out 500 years from now, but I can see it getting old and tiresome fast too.

Immortality doesn't always mean invincibility. Hopefully this version of immortality just means we wouldn't die of illness or age. Otherwise I would be worried about being trapped somewhere, unable to leave. Or living beyond the planet and sun.

Yeah, it would suck being buried alive and unable to die.
