Free holy books
So I was at a cultural fair over the weekend, and there was a Muslim outreach booth giving away free English language translated copies of the Quran. This is one of several ancient books that have had a profound impact on human culture and history that I've wanted to get around to reading eventually, so I took a copy.

That got me thinking: I wonder what other religious texts I could get for free.

ROFLOL

I figure I can steal the Bible the next time I stay at a hotel. I considered doing that in the past, but I figured the hotel wouldn't want me to. I've since found out that the people who place the Bibles there (the Gideons) really do want people to take them home and read them, so I may as well do it.

I've also heard that Mormons are constantly giving out free copies of the Book of Mormon. I wouldn't expect to get Scientology texts for free - I've heard they charge for everything, even to their own members.

There's the Urantia book. http://www.urantia.org/urantia-book/read...ook-online

Scientologists may not give away their works, but I suspect most Scientology churches (like our local one) have a library where you could read their books (but probably not borrow them; I asked if I could borrow some materials and was told no).

Marriott brands have The Book of Mormon and you're invited to take the copy.

There were a few times when I would leave junior high and people(Gideons I think) were handing out copies of the New Testament.

The grand thing about free holy books is, not only are they worth what you pay for them, they'd be a bargain at twice the price.
