Such a short sentence, so many problems.

First of all, it is nothing but a big fat argument from ignorance.

Just because we currently may not have an answer for the existence of the universe, does not mean that 'god did it' becomes the next best answer by default.

'God did it' has a very poor answer for unknowns in the past, it's not likely to get any better. Storms, earthquakes, famine, disease have all been answered with 'god did it' throughout history, and it hasn't worked out too well so far.

'God did it' has no explanatory power or scope.

If you can substitute the word 'magic' in place of 'god' and you haven't altered the explanatory power, you've explained nothing with
'god did it'.

And of course, if you are claiming that something as complex as the universe requires a god, how do you account for the existence of an even more complex thing such as this god you posit?

Don't scientists say that stuff pops in and out of existence periodically in space? Besides, there's technically never "nothing" out there anyway. Atoms are everywhere.

Now speaking things into existence, that's something I'd like to see happen. That really would be something from nothing, wouldn't it?

OP, please post an Intro thread, and when you're done, lurk around a little, contribute your thoughts to other people's threads, and when you're done, ask yourself if you've already learned the answers to these amazing burning questions you have bouncing around your brain. That is my advice for being a decent forum member. Otherwise, eff off.
