Being a porn actor is considered a profession?

I'm still not seeing the distinction between a porn star and a lawyer.

Is Dana De Armond a lawyer?

Comparing pornstars to politicians is insulting pornstars, since they are way better than politicians, laywers and religious apologists.

But where do you get that professionalism? Shouldn't the word professionalism be replaces for experience? How do you achieve successful eroticism? How do you achieve professionalism? Do you practice your vocal cords like singers in order to say "Oh yeah" more convincing? What number of blow jobs do you in front of a mirror in order to say you are doing it right? In the dress room of the porn filming do they have a dozen different thongs of different shape and colors to assure you have the right one? Dude people don't even need to finish high school to do porn!!! The camera man may be a professional, the guy who edits may be a professional, the sound technician may be a professional(And I say may because sometimes there are just people who do as they please) But the actors certainly don't need to be professionals you just need a couple of attractive people who don't have any disability and the guts to start f*****g in from of a camera.

Look I get that you have this either compulsion or desire to demonstrate you are smarter than other people (you show all the signs) but it's okay I don't judge you. Because let's be honest the whole: Is porn acting is considered a profession? I don't care that much. But if you are gonna make a statements contradicting me AT LEAST you could I dunno do it rationally.
I mean if you can't even handle a porn acting debate then what's gonna happen when we debate about theological debate? So listen up you Little Corporal I ain't gonna reply anything you have to say anything at all until you either retract yourself or tell me why I am the ignorant.
I don't care if in the future you define to me de meaning of life and ask me to prove you wrong.

I've been a member of this forum going on two years, with less than 2,000 posts. I read more than I post, but I appreciate it when people make good points, so I give kudos. Please don't call me out again. If I have something to say other than what others have said, I'll contribute, but I refuse to engage in mental masturbation by parroting the words of another member.

That being said, I do have a few thoughts that I planned on sharing anyway before you rudely shoved me onto the stage.

Quote:Do they practice their scenes with stunts?

Believe me, a lot of sexual positions are stunts.

Quote:The: oh yeah mama, keep going, I'm gonna cum, follows a strict script? Do they practice their dialects and accents like normal actors?

Not necessarily, but you don't see mainstream actors doing DP, POV, or Public Sex very much either. Different skills are needed in the two completely different industries.

Quote:Are their lingeries custom made?

Often, yes, they make it themselves.

Quote:The sexual positions in a scene need choreography?

Uh... yes. You must be watching very boring porn if you don't think so.

In most porn, even the sex is acting. You need to be able to concentrate on portraying the personality your directors ask you to play. Maybe you're really a sweet romantic guy who prefers slow love making and they want you to play some macho guy and fuck her brains out. Maybe she's really feisty and likes to have wild sex and they want her to portray a shy innocent girl who is nervous about having sex. Maybe she needs to be a virgin(even though she's not), maybe he needs to believe she's a virgin (even though he knows she's not).

I'm sorry do porn actors do other stuff in porn that I'm unaware about? Do they sing? Do they paint? Do they horse ride?(not the position!!!)Do they do card tricks? Do they do magic tricks? ,Yo yo?
Facepalm

Yeah you are right porn and modeling they don't share anything in common whatsoever. They are two different field that are lightyears away.
And why it can't be compared to the modeling industry? This would make some sense if you had refuted me one of my statements by the way.

This is so boring. I never cared about the subject this much.

Just because made a living by doing a particular line of job that doesn't guarantee you professionalism. Do they have a degree on massages? Considering they do a fair share of massage on camera one should think so. Do they practice their scenes with stunts? The: oh yeah mama, keep going, I'm gonna cum, follows a strict script? Do they practice their dialects and accents like normal actors? Are their lingeries custom made? The sexual positions in a scene need choreography?
Blah blah blah. When I hear someone ask, "what is your profession?" I usually take it as "what is your job?"

The bottom line is, I can give anyone kudos for any reason or for no reason at all. I am not obliged to tell you why I have given someone kudos and I don't really understand why you would care.

To answer your question, no I do not wish to reconsider my kudos to Napoleon. Facepalm

Ps. You spent a lot of time defending a post that was supposedly written by some conservative guy and not yourself.

I knew about the offensive language policy, along with the restriction of either violent and indecent images shown or posted however I never heard that there was a rule against posting links that lead to adult content. I knew about the rule of posting troll links that lead to webpages of other content that wasn't the one that was being discussed in the thread. Stimbo mentioned to me once. However if there is such a rule about not posting adult links in here and I have broken or violated it,I take responsibility of that and I won't object of whatever warning or banning it may be given to me because of that.

Okay…I don't now why I had to knew that but okay.
Quote:Please don't call me out again.
If you show your approval or disapproval toward certain topic I can call you as many times as I want(freedom of speech remember), besides just because I call someone that doesn't mean they had to reply. However If I continue calling you all the time in order to make a conflict with you or offend you I can understand why that could be a harassment however this isn't the case.
Quote: If I have something to say other than what others have said, I'll contribute, but I refuse to engage in mental masturbation by parroting the words of another member.
If that's your opinion then you why you accepted to engage in this particular mental masturbation(mental tantrum, yeah I get that, mental cockfight I could understand that but mental masturbation? Don't tell me why you say that I don't want to know) by parroting because?
Quote:That being said, I do have a few thoughts that I planned on sharing anyway before you rudely shoved me onto the stage.
Again I didn't shoved onto stage, so don't act like I forced you to reply no one is forcing anyone to do anything here.
Quote:Believe me, a lot of sexual positions are stunts
Prove it, also, why there are no stunts mentioning in most porn videos? How do they pick stunts? Is there any documented series of porn videos in which they either prove or corroborate the evidence, identity, participation, requirements, profit paid, and the involvement of stunts in either camera shots or previous to the filming? Are those stunts under the very same strict policy of STD and Drug control than the porn actors as well? Do those stunts need to resemblance or have the particular body measurements of the actors they are replacing? Is any famous porn actor that started his or her career as a porn stunt? What training do those professional stunts receive?
Quote:Not necessarily, but you don't see mainstream actors doing DP, POV, or Public Sex very much either. Different skills are needed in the two completely different industries.
Which skills? If a adult entertainment actor practice a skill how do he or she claim that it's a professional in that skill. Unlike regular actors who can claim what is being taught during acting classes and special courses of training.
Quote:Often, yes, they make it themselves.
Custom order clothes yeah. Taking in people measurements in order to buy the clothes absolutely. Custom made? I don't think so. You think differently prove it to me.I have no doubt that there can be one or more style designers that have made custom made clothes that have appeared in famous adult videos however Are you telling me that this statement applies to most films? And if they don't still it's called professional? (since you are stating that it's a professional trait of the adult film industries)And also the quality of production nor material of production has anything to do with the professionalism and quality of the actors who wear those clothed or accessories: So this topic only back ups the dedication and production of a adult film not the professionalism of their actors. Unless there is a individual actor or actress that only do scenes with custom made clothes which in case would imply that and only that person its a professional. Could you show me the trade mark requirements and rules of clothing in professional adult film videos in which they explain the use and showing of their outfits(which of course implying that such thing exists which I highly doubt)
Quote:Uh... yes. You must be watching very boring porn if you don't think so.
Who teaches this choreography? What happens if the actors don't follow this choreography? It's a obligatory requirement in a professional porn video? How do I know that they follow a choreography and they aren't just following instructions of what positions do? Who judges the choreography? Who decides the postures and choreography is shown in a adult video? How the quality of choreography is being measured? If they don't measure the quality why do they even bother to practice choreography in the first place? The same question I made before and that nobody so far has answered to me:
Are they acting? Or they just smiled to the camera and started to f**k? Because I can't see the difference. Seriously tell me which detail I am overlooking. Is there a detail or details that I'm missing? Why everyone see a professional porn video and instantly assume that the activities that are been shown in there can be called professional and isn't just two people in front of a camera either having sex or pretending they have sex?
One last question how many professional porn videos do I have to search you in which they don't do any choreography, show any custom made clothes nor appears any stunt at all to prove you are mistaken. Tell me number. Ten? fifteen? No more that sixteen because let's face it I have other things to do with my time.

Sometimes I wonder if doing something with pleasure constitutes a profession. I mean, after a while sex can get dull doing it professionally, most jobs do.

RE: Being a porn actor is considered a profession?
If a profession is something that requires learning or special training then no, being a porn actor is not a profession.

I think I watched a documentary once where all a guy had to do was fill in some forms, get STD tested and have a photo of himself taken.

I'm not saying porn actors or actresses are stupid, but as far as I know I think it's pretty much a fact you do not need to be professionally trained to act in porn.

In fact some porn sites pride themselves in hiring new actresses who have never had any porn experience before and sometimes it's obviously a marketing tactic other times it seems like the actresses are genuinely new to making porn.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Yeah but what skills are those?

Have you learned to suppress your gag reflex so that you can handle a ten inch cock being repeatedly shoved down your throught? It's not hard for me to imagine this technique requiring a bit of transferred knowledge.
