Meh. My highest desire is to know the world and myself on their own terms. I don't long for the world to be a fairy tale. I don't want to play a part; I want to know the whole.

Yeah sound sounds nice and sweet. What you need to do is look away from the mirror. It does start with you, but it don't end there. You remind me of a horse with blinders. And all you see is "you" in a "limited world" on that mirror's reflection.

Umm .. based on what? It must be nice for you to not only see everything so clearly but to also be able to identify the mote in the eyes of others. You really sound like a pompous ass.

All you need to know is that your view is narrow. Where you and I differ is that I understand what I don't know. and I do not see everything so clearly. Your and your stance are just easy for now. But if you listen, and use reason maybe you will teach me someday.

Atheism recognizes the reality of situations (in this case, there being no God and no afterlife). Even though it is good to recognize the reality of a situation in most cases, this is not always the case. In situations where not recognizing the reality of a situation does no harm to you or anyone else and brings you personal pleasure, then recognizing the reality of the situation is pointless. In other words, since believing in God and such would do me no harm and wouldn't make me harm others and would bring me personal pleasure in life, it would be pointless for me to be an atheist that I am now.

again, great atheist theology. We mite as well face that sad facts. Some sects of atheist are religous. ROFLOL

just list the traits you feel a religion is. See if they are objective. Then decide. Devil

Sometimes you can take the believin' in gawd away but still be left with the cock sure, ready-to-tell-anyone-who-will-listen what they should do, absolutism of the true believer. You might try actually listening to what people say and asking clarifying questions if you really want to converse. Or just go on declaring your righteous interpretation of everyone and everything just like the fundamentalist you were and still are at heart.
