Surely her biggest statement is just not wanting to be muslim. Just leaving the religion. It is of course her human right to do that, and to say and do as she wants.
It's not immoral to eat meat, abort a fetus or love someone of the same sex...I think that about covers it

Yep, I'd agree with that. I don't believe that you should require a justification for not wanting to follow a religion. There doesn't need to be any explanation beyond the point "I don't want to believe in X anymore" as it is a personal matter. My initial statement was with reference to her position on critiquing Muslim views, there are far better arguments than hers which employ reductionism & treating Muslims as monolithic.
She is entitled to all of her opinions as is everyone, provided that they are not damaging or entailing coercion. In addition to this, if I was to seek a source which critiques Islam, I would look away from Hirsi as others do a better job in that sense.

Putting all of that together, my conclusion is that I am not the biggest fan of Ali but that is my opinion only.

I didn't read the original post but killing for blasphemy goes right back to the prophet Mohammed. So, don't expect it to be outlawed by Muslim countries.

If you're still in Pakistan you should be careful because the Qur'an says that one can be put to death if:

1) Commits apostasy. AND
2) Propagates against Islam.

I believe in Pakistan those laws are like this. Just saying.

As recently as 1966, sheik Abd el Aziz bin Baz asked the king of Saudi Arabia to suppress a heresy that was spreading in his land. Wrote the sheik:
"The Holy Koran, the Prophet’s teachings, the majority of Islamic scientists, and the actual facts all prove that the sun is running in its orbit . . . and that the earth is fixed and stable, spread out by God for his mankind. . . . Anyone who professed otherwise would utter a charge of falsehood toward God, the Koran, and the Prophet."
The good sheik evidently holds the Copernican theory to be a "mere theory," not a "fact." In this he is technically correct. A theory can be verified by a mass of facts, but it becomes a proven theory, not a fact. The sheik was perhaps unaware that the Space Age had begun before he asked the king to suppress the Copernican heresy. The sphericity of the earth has been seen by astronauts, and even by many earth-bound people on their television screens. Perhaps the sheik could retort that those who venture beyond the confines of God’s earth suffer hallucinations, and that the earth is really flat.
