No, reincarnation is a fiendishly cruel social convention designed to keep people and their place without winging and trying to better themselves.

Fuck you, India.

i worry about death in case i get trapped in the 5th dimension in pain with the ghosts and the lizard people and the dark lower astral realm. i don't worry about birth because it already happened.

Found this as an solid answer, any additional thoughts?
Quote:I would reckon that people are not concerned what happens before birth because the true fear lies in ego death. Our ego is a manifestation of our environment and social conditioning. Our ego developed as a result of life so the birth of our ego was the birth of our personal identity. We came in to this world and an ego developed after birth, so concerning yourself with the past non-existence of it seems to be wasted energy. We spend much more time in fear, anticipating the eventual death of our identity.
That being said the connection you made ia very insightful to those contemplating death. When preparing for it you can take cpmfort in knowing that before this particular life you were amongst the non-existent. We all came from death.

I agree with the quote re: ego and such, tho I would never have found the wording to express it.

IMHO.....fear of death comes is about two (or maybe more?) thoughts: 1. the process (long term building pain, sudden immense pain; disabling terminal disease, and the like, and 2. the complete loss of "self" (or as the quote said: "ego".).

Before life began, there was no fear and no "ego" simply because "life" had not yet occurred. And an early death (infants from birth to say....2 or 3 months) most likely die with no fear as cognition has not yet had sufficient time to mature.

However, a full life will imbue the individual with a sense of life and self....and death means that those senses cease at once....and permanently.

That ain't easy to face or to reconcile.

At least for me.
People don't go to heaven when they die; they're taken to a special room and burned.
